The MICE team (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) is located at the Yale-NUS (YNC) campus now shared with NUS College.
MICE deploys a 339 seat Performance Hall, 126 seat Blackbox Theatre along with Practice Room spaces, a Dance Studio, Amphitheatre and Visual Arts Studios. These are specialised spaces designed by Arup Theatre Consultants and have attention paid to acoustics and stage technologies including stage lighting. MICE possess an experienced team that have previously developed and worked at Singapore’s main venues such as the Esplanade, Kallang and Victoria Theatre.
MICE also possess mobile staging capacity that allows us to present events across the YNC campus. MICE has also been known for its converted stage spaces into a Carpentry Studio and Technology Fabrication Studio. These have since transitioned to NUS Library.
The focus of MICE resources had not been solely for the performing arts. The MICE spaces, staff expertise along with the Fabrication Studios allowed for faculty and students to produce and customise prototypes, research and even Life Sciences models that would have been cost prohibitive if done with external contractors.
The MICE team has been a tool with classes, faculty research and conferences making up approximately 60% of our bookings. The remainder time has been with vibrant performances by students that have raised the attractiveness of YNC as an institution, at the time. MICE has since transitioned to NUS UCI. Booking permissions remain wit YNC until the institution closes in June 2025.
