Whether you’re preparing to move to Singapore or getting ready to settle into your new apartment, our resources are designed to assist you every step of the way. Please take a moment to review the following sections.
Eligibility for Housing
You would have been informed of your housing eligibility in your terms of appointment with NUS. To apply for University housing, please submit your request through the Human Resource Officer of the department/faculty that you are employed under in NUS.
Instruction to Movers
Ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months and that you have a valid Employment Pass and Singapore visa, where required.

Transportation of Personal Effects
You would have been informed of the relocation allowance that you are eligible for and the terms for reimbursement. You are advised to arrange the shipment of your personal effects such that they arrive in Singapore after you do as there may be customs formalities that you have to attend to personally, and to avoid incurring storage charges, for which the University is not liable. We also suggest that you arrange with your shipping agent to assist in customs clearance and delivery of your goods on arrival in Singapore.
If you are moving to Kent Vale, please submit the Kent Vale House Mover Form to enter the estate.
Before moving out of the apartment, please email to housing.kv@nus.edu.sg or submit enquiry UCI A.S.K. Portal (Housing Services -> Faculty Accommodation -> Check Out) at least thirty (30) days in advance to arrange for an inventory check. All vacating residents must be fully aware of the moving out procedures & responsibilities.
Condition of Apartments
Vacating residents are required to return the apartment to its original condition, reasonable wear and use excepted. Please note that damages and cleaning charges will be assessed based on failure to do the following:
Change of Address
Please inform your family/friends/service providers of your new mailing address prior to your moving out.
Housing Services will not be able to hold mail for you neither will you have access to the mailbox once you are no longer a tenant at that address. Therefore, please ensure that you file for change of address notice well in advance of your move out.
Bulk Delivery/Movers
If you are engaging any house mover(s)/logistics provider(s) for your move, please complete the Kent Vale House Movers Form and submit at least two (2) working days before the actual date of moving/delivery. A confirmation email will be sent to you to inform you of the status of your application.
If you would prefer the movers to undertake the costs of any damages incurred during the move, please have them sign the Kent Vale Indemnity Form – House Mover. Kindly retain the form for your own records as it will serve to protect you from any negligent act by the movers/delivery companies.
Please note that bulk deliveries / house moving should only be carried out during the following hours:
– Monday – Saturday: 9.00 am – 6.00 pm
– Sunday and Public Holiday: 10.00 am – 5.00 pm
Return of Original Keys & Access Cards
All original sets of keys and access cards issued must be returned upon check-out. If any of the original key(s) or access cards are missing, the entire lock set(s) will be replaced and the cost incurred for the replacement set(s) will be charged, according to prevailing term contract rate.
Occupancy fees will cease only when all original sets of keys and access cards are returned to Kent Vale Front Desk.
Termination of Utilities and Other Services
For Standard Apartments Only:
Residents are not required to terminate utility services (water, electricity & gas supplies) upon moving out. Housing Services will transfer the utilities account upon your vacating the apartment. Nonetheless, you may contact SP Services Customer Service Centres at 1800 222 2333 or refer to https://www.spgroup.com.sg/home for procedures required for the refund of your deposit.
Please consult the respective service provider(s) for termination procedures regarding internet, cable television and telephone services.
Collection of keys
Kent Vale Front Desk is located at 121 Clementi Road, Singapore 129802. Kindly bring along any form of identification document (e.g. passport, employment pass, IC) for the collection of your Check-in envelope and a Check-in form for your acknowledgement. We have Security personnel to receive you at Kent Vale Front Desk after office hours by which services are kept to a minimal. Our office hours at the Kent Vale Front Desk are from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm (Monday to Friday).

Inventory List
Please find enclosed the inventory list for your reference. You are strongly advised to do an inventory check personally upon moving into your allocated apartment. Any discrepancies should be highlighted within 7 days; otherwise, the Management will assume that your apartment was handed over in an agreeable and satisfactory condition. You will be held responsible for any loss or damage of items found subsequently.
For Standard Apartments:
Transfer of utilities (before your move-in)
Please make arrangement at least 7-10 days before your move-in to open your utilities account for your new apartment via https://spgrp.sg/OpenAccount or SP utilities mobile app.
You may specify the account activation date to be your move-in date and forward a copy of confirmation email of SP Services to KVMO at housing.kv@nus.edu.sg once the transfer is completed.
If you fail to open the account before your move-in date, you shall be charged all outstanding utility bills consumed from the date of your move-in till the transfer takes effect; with an additional 10% admin fee imposed, deductible from your payroll or any applicable mode of payment.
The Management reserves the right to discontinue the supply of utilities to the apartment should the account not be transferred timely. Restoration of the utilities supply by applying directly with SP Services will be at the onus of the resident.
Internet Services (Kent Vale 1)
There are three (3) main internet service providers (ISP) in Singapore, namely, M1, SingTel and StarHub. Please visit the respective websites to check their internet subscription packages. To subscribe, please contact the relevant service provider directly.
a) M1 website
It is worth noting that there are only two cable TV service providers, SingTel and Starhub. Hence, if you intend to sign up for cable TV services, you may want to consider subscribing to either of them for internet services as well.
Please note that the service provider will require a copy of the resident’s employment pass, passport, signed copy of your allocation letter (as proof of billing address) and/or a deposit. Do check with the service provider for the deposit amount required.
Internet at Kent Vale 2
Residents who choose to use the complimentary NUS network at Kent Vale 2 may purchase your own router(s). Thereafter, residents are to contact NUS IT Care to whitelist the router for use at Kent Vale 2. Please email IT Care at itcare@nus.edu.sg and include the following:
Telecommunications and Cable TV Services
There are two (2) residential telephone and cable TV service providers in Singapore, namely, SingTel and StarHub. Please visit the respective websites to check the required service packages. To subscribe, please contact the relevant service provider directly.

Important rules include the following:
Permitted Occupiers in University Housing – We wish to highlight on the permitted occupiers of University Housing found in the Occupancy Terms and Conditions (T&C), Annex A. Please take note that relationships not specified in the T&C would not be allowed to stay at Kent Vale. Any breach in the T&C may result in the housing benefit been withdrawn.
Save in exceptional circumstances, as determined by the University in its discretion, tenants will not be allowed to change its allocated housing unit (refer to para 9 of the Terms & Conditions)
