Fire Safety is one of the three sections under the Division of Campus Emergency and Security.
The goals of Fire Safety are to raise fire safety awareness among the community and strengthen emergency preparedness requirements across the university’s buildings. We accomplish this by carrying out professional fire safety training, inspections, exercises and consultations to the university departments and stakeholders. The section also coordinates and executes fire and hazmat (Hazardous Materials) drills regularly for buildings with higher risk activities with local government agencies.
With the changes to the SCDF Fire Safety Act in 2019, Fire Safety is expanding our capabilities and capacities to become the university’s qualified Company Emergency Response Team.
Even as we pursue programmes to improve our performance standards, we also incorporate measures to enhance the safety and health of our members.
