About Security Technology and Readiness

Security Technology and Readiness Section maintains a comprehensive and technology-driven security framework to safeguard its campus, community, and critical infrastructure. Supporting NUS as a leading global university, the section integrates advanced security technologies for smart surveillance and access control, robust emergency protocols, and proactive risk management to ensure a secure and resilient environment for the NUS community.

Operations Technology Unit employs a multi-layered, technology-enhanced security strategy to address evolving risks while ensuring operational continuity. By leveraging on smart systems, automation, and data-driven insights, it helps NUS to remain at the forefront of campus security and emergency readiness. 

Through Security Emergency and Readiness Unit’s resilience and preparedness initiatives, it empowers the community with knowledge and tools, enabling them to organise activities safely and respond promptly to crises through the Crisis Emergency Management framework. The Unit also collaborates with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Singapore Police Force (SPF), Ministry of Educations and Ministry of Home Affairs, Security partners and approved vendors to ready the university to effectively respond to emergencies and crises, including major incidents and accidents, security threats, terrorism acts, widespread diseases, and pandemic situations.
