Professor Philip Moore

Prof Philip Moore first joined NUS in 2003 and was the Head of the Department of Pharmacology till 2008. He was also appointed as Vice Dean of Research for NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine from 2006. In 2008 he joined King’s College London as the Department Head for Pharmacology and Therapeutics before returning to NUS in 2010 as a Research Director in the Office of the Deputy President Research and Technology (ODPRT). He was concurrently appointed as a Professor of Pharmacology and Pharmacy.

He has since taken on a number of additional administrative roles in ODPRT, first as the Executive Director for the NUS Graduate School for Integrative Science and Engineering, then as Director of Research Planning and Administration. He is also the Chief Research Compliance and Research Integrity Officer for NUS.

Prof Moore is an internationally renowned pharmacologist and has published over 200 pages in leading journals and is a highly cited author. He also has extensive experience in both undergraduate and graduate education in the UK and Singapore, having guided many of his students successfully to their Ph.D. degree.

For NUS to be a leading global university at the forefront of research and education, it needs to continually embrace new research areas and approaches to the way research and teaching are conducted. What is the impact of these changes on the safety and health of our staff and students?

This plenary session will provide an overview of the future direction of research and education in NUS and why we need innovative and integrative ways to address the emerging safety and health challenges from these changes.”
