The Office of Environmental Sustainability works with students and staff from various bodies within NUS to carry out sustainability projects and initiatives.

Beyond NUS

NUS is a member of various networks that aim to promote and/or coordinate sustainability related work among their members.


Tertiary Institutions Council for the Environment (TICE)

The TICE was set up to allow tertiary institutions in Singapore to collaborate as well as compete in environmental projects.


International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU)

The IARU is a network of 11 international research-intensive universities across the globe which share similar values, a global vision and a commitment to educating future world leaders.

International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN)

The ISCN is a global forum to support leading colleges, universities, and corporate campuses in the exchange of information, ideas, and best practices for achieving sustainable campus operations and integrating sustainability in research and teaching. It comprises of more than 70 schools from more than 20 countries in 6 continents. NUS is one of seven schools that co-host the ISCN. As a co-host member university, NUS is represented in the ISCN Board, which decides on ISCN’s overall strategy, organisational development and operational issues.

Global University Leaders Forum (GULF)

The GULF is a group of CEOs from 25 top world universities. It was established in 2006 to foster collaboration in areas of global policy importance and to assist in shaping the World Economic Forum’s agenda.
