As a student hostel, we strive to provide a comfortable and safe living environment for our guests during their short stay with us in a hostel setting.
Located in a modern setting in the convenience of a small town, University Town offers unique rooms with impressive views. It is the first of its kind in Singapore’s higher learning landscape. Linked to the NUS Kent Ridge campus via a link bridge (College Link), UTown is where 4100 people work, live and learn in close proximity. It has 4 residential colleges, graduate students apartments, guest apartments, sport facilities and is walking distance to many cultural and educational facilities at Kent Ridge.

Public Transport (Train – MRT)
Public buses and MRT services operate daily from 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM.
Arriving by MRT from Changi Airport
From Terminal 1: Take the free SkyTrain to Terminal 2 or 3.
From Terminal 4: Take the free shuttle bus to Terminal 3.
MRT route: Changi Airport (CG2) → Buona Vista (EW21/CC22) → Circle Line towards HarbourFront → Kent Ridge (CC24)
From Kent Ridge Station Exit A Bus Stop (18331), take NUS Shuttle Bus D2.
Alight at UTown stop and take a 5-minute walk to UTR property to Check-In.

Loss of key cards may result in a replacement fee of $32

Using Your Key Card

Tap the card at the card reader. Green light indicates access is granted. Push or pull glass door.

Tap the card at the card reader. A beep sound indicates that access is granted. You may then select your room level.

To unlock the door, tap card on the black color card reader on the door. A Green light indicates access is granted
To lock the door, tap card on the black card reader on the door. A Red light indicates door is locked.

Lost Key Card
During office hours, please approach the Front Desk for a replacement. A replacement fee of $32 will apply. After office hours, please approach the Security Officer for assistance and make payment at the Front Desk on the next working day.
Late-night Lockout Assistance
Guests who are locked out late at night should call the Campus Emergency & Security hotline at +65 6874 1616.

If your key card is not working, please approach the Front Desk during office hours. After office hours, please call Campus Emergency & Security at +65 6874 1616 for assistance.

Sustainability
To support NUS’ sustainability efforts, guests are encouraged to conserve energy during their stay:
Switch off electrical appliances when not in use or when leaving the room
Unplug devices when not in use
Maximise natural light during the day
Housekeeping covers the cleaning of shared areas only, including:
Common toilets and shower rooms
Common lounges
Common pantries (excluding used utensils that are left in the sink)
Corridors and stairwells
Laundry rooms
For guests staying more than 7 nights, weekly housekeeping will be provided. This includes basic room cleaning and linen change.
Additional Cleaning Requests
Guests may request room cleaning in the event of unforeseen incidents in the room. Cleaning fees may apply.

These Housing Rules and Regulations apply to all guests staying at National University of Singapore residential facilities. All guests must comply with these rules at all times. Failure to do so may result in removal from campus accommodation and or further action by the University.
Quiet hours are observed daily from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
All organised activities must end by 10:00 PM.
Guests must ensure that noise levels do not disturb other residents at any time.
Only facilities and spaces explicitly allocated or reserved for the guest group may be used.
Unauthorised areas are strictly out of bounds, including but not limited to:
Common lounges
Seminar rooms
Multi-purpose halls
Auditoriums
Other restricted spaces
Guests are responsible for the conduct of their visitors, including family members, friends, and relatives.
Visitors must comply with all NUS rules and regulations while on campus.
Overnight visitors are strictly prohibited.
Any breach by visitors will be deemed a breach by the host guest.
Hostel rooms and bathroom or toilet facilities are strictly gender-specific.
When a person of the opposite gender is present in a room, the room door must remain open at all times.
Loitering in corridors, kitchens, and common areas after 10:00 PM is not permitted.
Guests must close and lock room or apartment doors, main lobby doors or gates, and fire exit doors when entering or leaving the building.
Guests must not interfere with the general use and enjoyment of campus common areas.
Guests must not use appliances, cooking utensils, or food items that do not belong to them unless expressly permitted.
Food and drinks are not allowed in lounges or seminar rooms unless approved by NUS.
Guests must switch off all electrical appliances and close windows when leaving the room.
Any loss or damage to room items, appliances, or linens must be reported promptly to the Management Office.
Guests may be liable for the cost of repair or replacement.
Guests must comply with the laws of Singapore and all NUS regulations while on NUS premises.
NUS reserves the right to deny access to or evict any guest who fails to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or policies.
The following are strictly prohibited:
Smoking
Vaping, including e-vaporisers
Possession, use, or consumption of illicit drugs
Alcohol consumption in hostel premises and unauthorised areas
Gambling in any form
Unauthorised use of NUS premises
Illegal software or malicious code
Political activities, religious proselytising, protests, demonstrations, hate speech, violence, or criminal activities
Fire Emergency Plan
In the event of a fire, the fire alarm will be activated and a full evacuation will commence immediately.
Actions to Be Taken
Stay calm.
Proceed via the nearest staircase exit to the designated assembly area.
Do not use the lifts.
Assist persons with disabilities where possible and inform staff.
Mark your attendance with the Resident Assistant or staff.
Do not re-enter the building unless instructed by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
